10,000 Update

Eclipsed the 10,000 mile on my Y2K ST over the weekend, so thought I would jump in
with a bit of an update. The gist of which is problem free since picking up the
bike from the dealer. The only repair I have made to the bike is to replace the
leftside bolt/screw that holds the colored bezel over the indicator lamps. The
only outstanding item that I have is the belly pan has deformed slightly from the
exhaust heat. I pointed it out to my dealer last time I was in chatting there and
he said he could get it replaced under warranty. Need to get back in and get with
them on that. As far as the common problems that have cropped up on the list 1)
oil leaks, none 2) fuel leaks, none 3) radiator leaks, none. Regarding the fuel
sender, I don't have any gripes with it. Is it absolutely accurate, no way, but
then I have never had any vehicle that had an accurate fuel gauge. The first 100
miles, show's about 1/3 tank used, with the remaining 150 miles using up the
second 2/3. The light comes on just before the needle hits the red zone.

As far as improvements to the bike goes, it is bone stock. No new shocks, seats,
windscreens, or risers.  Heck, I haven't even played with the adjustments on the
suspension. I will be needing to replace the tires shortly, as the back is nearing
the wear bars, and will want to replace them both at the same time. Still debating
on what way to go with tires, I haven't had any complaints with the Bridgstones,
but it seems that they are not real well received by the masses.
