i found a local guy that did the paint work. Total cost including new decals was $1700 (decals were $200), and the guy that did, did a fantastic job it looks like a factory paint job, maybe even better than factory. he cleared over the decals which looks really nice, and provides a little protection for them. don't believe me check it out here:

it was well worth the dollars. and i agree this bike belongs in racing yellow, only thing that would have a little nicer on it, was if it was pre 02 and had the black frame and wheels.

Well if my Sprint needed a paint job, it would definitely go the yellow
route. As it is, the Sprint is the only bike I've ever owned that I
haven't ever dropped (knock, knock) so that won't be happening soon.
I did look into painting our Del Sol VTEC in Ducati Yellow since the
clear coat has failed thanks to our salt air. Estimate came back at
$3000! Couldn't take more than a few swipes to paint a Del Sol, but it
was huge hours to remove and install everything that needed to come
off. If I win the lottery some day, I'll paint the Del Sol and have
them do the Sprint at the same time.
