Fix the obvious problems first and you may find that the bike works
again. Even if it doesn't, you've eliminated one possible cause for
difficulty starting.
As the vacuum lines just hold air, any kind of tubing will work as
long as it can stand the engine heat. At least in my neck of the
woods I can buy the same kind of tubing from the local chain hardware
store and from my motorcycle dealer. My dealer sold me BMW tubing by
the foot because it was cheaper than the Triumph equivalent. (Imagine
that!)
