Prior to my 12k service (stock sprockets/silencer/tune/etc), I was averaging
47mpg (US) during my daily commute, which has a good bit of stop and go;
weekend jaunts in the mountains have me averaging 54mpg (US).
After my 12k service, when I had the chain and sprockets replaced, the
dealer accidentally ordered a front sprocket one tooth smaller (17?). My
averages seem to have dropped a bit (45/51 or so), but I don't have enough
samples to feel confident in the trend just yet (I'm also riding more
aggressively).
Prior to the 12k service, I had occasional drops in mileage that could be
attributed to changes in gas formulation, so the current drop could just be
another one of those.
