Well, here's what happened to me. I stopped at a T intersection (at the
end of my own frickin' street--no less) and turned left. For whatever
reason, the rear stepped out to the right. I let off the gas (don't let
off the gas!), the bike went into a wobble and pitched me over the
front. I have time to think, "Uh oh." I put my hand down to try and
catch myself, then rolled on my shoulder and slid on my back. The bike
smashed onto the right side and slid after me.

Always wear your gear! I had similar injuries. As I said, I landed on
my right shoulder, though thanks to my JR phoenix jacket got no bruises,
and suffered a big bruise on my right hip.
Glad you weren't hurt worse.
