The 955 does have a balance shaft. It is "timed" like a camshaft and
gear-driven, thus not really "adjustable" (no one else's is either). It
cannot jump time without severe engine/case damage that you'd notice
immediately.
Someone suggested a valve adjustment and other work. I'd start there.
