[ST] 46mm, R u kidding me?

I've picked up a nail in my rear tire, mounting new
tire tomorrow. Need to get tire off bike.
I've been told to get wheel off I need a 46mm Socket.
The painfully inadequate tool kit has nothing of the
sorts from what I see (maybe mine isn't complete?)
Question:
1) Where can I find one? (Sears/Home Depot says no)
2) Is there an English (SAE) Socket that will work in
a pinch? A buddy said to use 1 9/16ths, but that does
compute with my metric to English conversion (1-13/16
inches, correct?)
3) What do u guys carry on your bikes? Seems even if
u had the socket and driver, that's very cumbersome to
hide on the bike.
Thanks,
Bryce
