I am also disappointed in the wear characteristics of the
BT57's. I
wore the rear out in less than 2300 miles and the front is

Currently I have
2200 miles on it and it is half gone. I rode to Mid-Ohio
last month and
cruised at 85-90 mph (indicated) for about 2 1/2 hours on
I-77. The
rear BT 020 had blisters on it. The air pressure was 42
psi cold when I
checked it upon my return. I am going to try the new
Michelin Pilot
Road next.
This echo's my experience with them. I put an 020 on the
rear and ran it for 4k miles @ 42psi at which point it was
down to the cords. A bit disappointing for a
"Sport-Touring" tire. Replaced it with a Michelin Sport
Pilot and after 6.5k miles an eyeballing of it tells me it
ought to be good for at least another 2k. A sport tire
w/twice the longevity of a "touring" tire. Go figure.
BTW, no problems with a front 020. Current one on it has
9k miles and appears to have plenty left.
