[ST] Re: Oil Level

I recently also had a similar experience of oil on the
floor after a track day and am glad the subject has come
up. My oil level was right in the middle and I did give
the bike a good thrashing. There were five different spots
of oil beneath the bike the next morning, mostly under the
point where the swingarm and the frame join. My dealer
suggested it was likley just blown out the breather and
was likley due to hard track riding but could possibly. He
suggested I clean the bike throughly then spray it with
foot powder, ride it then look for leaks. Happy to say I
found none. But I am curious if others have had the same
thing happen. I also worry if oil is in my air box is it
contaminating the air filter? Dealer says not likely and I
don't really want to hassle with pulling my fuel tank
(after reading the how to's on this list) to check it.
Cheers,

On mine, the level was just below the upper mark of the sight glass for a
year without problems, including hard road days. But when I went for a track
day, it started to overflow down the tubes, necessitating draining 100-200
ml of oil to half way or slightly below mark. It seems that just below the
top mark was too high for the the extra heat/pressure during a track day.
