I think there is an overflow tube running from the filler cap down to that
area.
I've 'missed the hole' before and had it drip out in the garage for days. I
would
check to make sure it's not just coming from there before trying to get to
the sensor.

My ST is leaking a few drops of gasoline near the kick stand when it's not
running. Is this the famous fuel gauge sensor leak?
I have 4900 miles on a 2001 ST.
