While I'm not denying that lots of cagers will look (and drive) straight
through a motorcycle, there is, as the referenced posting indicated, a lot
you can do to make yourself more visible. In Canada Safety Council-speak
(I'm sure MSF is the same) it's called conspicuity.
It isn't just a matter of wearing bright colored stuff and painting your
bike to look like a CHiP. Lane positioning, spacing in traffic and
anticipation can all save your life. And, as advocated by BMW Owners, you
should always be looking for an escape route.
If in doubt, take a MSF/CSC course.
Question of the day: there's a famous model name in Triumph's past that
they haven't yet revived in the Hinckley era. Anyone want to tell me what
it is? No prize, except list kudos.
