So my Sprint ST engine is hosed. It has 45k miles and the following stats:
Compression test
#1- 150
#2- 147
#3- 125
Leak down test
#1- 2% leakage
#2- 19% leakage inlet and ex
#3- 9% leakage inlet
This indicates rings, pistons and probably valve grinding.
The guy I'm dealing with, Todd at Team Triumph in WI, proposes taking a 2000
Daytona 955i engine with 4,999 miles on it (a crash recovery bike, Todd sez
he knows the owner and witnessed the crash) and swaping into my frame.
He wants $3,675; this would include some other stuff I've asked him to do,
like sort out my suspension and fix a few cosmetic things.
What does everyone think?
Jay
