Have had stock wheels bent and repaired with no problems. Some (more severe)
dents better left alone. But after having bent up a not inconsiderable
number of wheels over the years while racing, I've learned that a good (i.e.
reputable) wheel repair guy/shop is invaluable.
Depending on severity, and the person doing the repair work, I'd have no
problem getting 'em fixed - I've had it done before for street bikes and
race bikes. Doubtful you'll find anyone willing to touch exotics
(mag/cf/Ti/etc), but you can do a lot with modern aluminium alloys...
