Apex,
I highly recommend the change to the 18T front sprocket. A lot more low end
grunt, hell, I'm pulling power wheelies coming out of first gear corners
(yip-eee). I don't think the change has any effect on top-end, but you sure
get to triple digits faster. I've had my bike up to 150mph indicated with
both sprockets, and that's fast enough for me. And about gas
mileage....funny I don't seem to be getting any worse mileage! Reserve light
comes on at about 200 miles with a little better than a 1/2 gal left. I
have put 235 miles on a tank and still had 3/10's in the tank. In sixth
gear I am turning 500 rpm higher than with the 19T. Fuel injection is a
wonderful thing.
