Good gear only goes so far in protecting you. When some cell phone yacking
bimbo in a 6000lb SUV
plows into you, you really think a helmet and leather is going to stop
blunt trauma?

We are, of course, ALL very responsible cyclists, and NEVER pass on a double
yellow, or go too fast, or.... My point was that there are good AND bad
cages AND motorcyclists. Accidents happen. If I smack a biker in my jeep and
the guy gets F**'d up way worse than he has to simply because of lack of
protection, well...that isn't really fair to me no matter who's at fault.
