Bill, I just became aware that I have almost completely worn out my rear
brake pads. After attending a MSF class when I purchased my bike, I
developed the habit of using both brakes all the time. I was quite surprised
to discover the rear brake pads were almost gone. Thinking about it, I
conclude that one caliper slowing one end of the bike is working twice as
hard as two brake calipers at the front end. So, I think I will stop using
the rear brakes except for special occasions.
