I've seen the same pattern switch fitted to numerous power tools,
Industrial drum sanders etc... Seems they're a generic heavy duty
switch. Every one that I've seen apart from the Triumph model has been
Illuminated. Investigation has also revealed that the illuminated ones
only have three wires so I don't think rewiring will be necessary. In
the past I haven't wanted to dismantle the switch to investigate in
case I'd damage it but since I now have a destroyed switch requiring
replacement I may as well tear it apart for a look see. I'll let you
know what I find out.
Also, while fitting the European style headlight switch is a neat and
ingenious solution it's a non runner as my European light switch is
powering my European lights. :)
