There had been some question about the steppers on the 99 and 00 models - I
was able to verify that they both have the same stepper.
I did however post some misinformation - after talking to a few
knowledgeable shop mechanics I was able to get the story straight. The 5
degree and 12 degree referred to the angle of the throttle butterfly when
closed (not to the resolution of the stepper). By moving to 5 degrees
(versus the old 12), the opening of the throttle from a closed position
gives a more gradual increase in airflow and should enhance low speed
performance (makes it smoother).
