I was using the pressure washer to make sure that the paint had keyed
properly to the hugger. I don't hold it two inches from the bodywork or
point it at the chain, hub, radiators, brake calipers etc... In this
case I wanted to stress test the paint process before telling the list
that it worked.

And why would one be using a pressure washer in that area of the bike?
Using a pressure washer on a motorcycle is a good way to ruin seals and
bearings.
