RE: Pinging(?)
Just finished a cross country trip on my 00 blue st. Naturally I was not on
the interstates. Actually I was so far from civilization most of the time I
didn't have the luxury of choosing brands of gas and even octane some of the
times. When at altitude in eastern Oregon, Idaho, and Wyoming there were
several times when I had no choice but to use 85 octane....when I had a
choice premium was 86.5 octane. Anyway no pinging problems at all.

I don't know if it's exactly the same problem, but I've been
noticing for a while now that I occasionally hear some sort of odd noise
when pulling away. It's not pinking though. I first thought that it
was the tyre kicking up debris, but I'm not so sure any more. The chain
is correctly adjusted.
I've only noticed the noise since I started using Metzeler tyres,
MeZ4s and now MeZ3s.
