My dealer put on a license plate bracket, in cross section like this:

This bolts within the mud guard area, and then provides wings wide enough
for the US plate sizes. Dunno where they get these, but you can call them
and ask them: MCC at 630-782-2010. Probably want to ask Greg. It's real
clean and looks good, like it came with the bike. It also holds the plate
far enough out that it doesn't slap on the mud guard and drive me nuts.
