I have a Vistacruse universal (the kind that adds a couple of clams and a
bracket) on my Magna that has been working fine for the past 10,000 miles. A
frined of mine go the smaller Vistacruse that fits inbetween the grip and
the switch housing that looks to be made of the same sturdy glass-filled
plastic that my universal is made of. I don't know what you were using Eric,
but the Vistacruse seems to hold up just fine - and it's under 30 bucks.
Another option that I will be trying out on my Sprint (if it ever actually
shows up) is a throttle rocker. It's a loop of plastic that you rest your
palm on when crusing at a steady speed. You just flip it out of the way
in-town. About 8 bucks.
