Nope. I speak from experience. And the boots look a lot less ratty.

Subject: [ST] Bootcare question
Hey folks,
I have a pair of riding boots ( cant remember the brand name) that are
staring to look a little rough. They have a waterproof inner membrane,
which i am guessing must be inside the leather. They work very well.
Will applying a regular shoe style polish to the outside screw up the
waterproofing ?
Thanks,
John
