Re: [ST] Squids

About 20 years ago I had a job working nights in the Portland Oregon area.
My job had me out on the road from about 6pm until around 2 in the morning.

One night I was driving along one of the main roads on the east side of town
when a not to bright squid came roaring up behind me doing a wheelie,
apparently showing off to a friend who was to the side and behind him. The
poor kid couldn't get the front wheel down and the bike stopped before he
ran into the rear end of my pick-up truck. The driver ended up in the bed of
my truck and the front end of the bike demolished the tailgate of my
pick-up.

Fortunately, the young man survived. It's an experience I'll never forget
and don't ever want to repeat.

I don't know where this term came from, but anyway.

Sunday I was driving down the highway with the family (around 7ishPM EST)
and we saw a group of rice rockets heading in the opposite direction.
Probably doing the speed limit to 10 over, but the lead guy was riding a
standup wheelie for quite a while.

Now I'm all for having fun and popping wheelie's but there's a time and
place for it, and going 80 down the highway isn't it. I wonder what came
first, Superbike or the crazy behavior. Eitherway, that stupid show is just
adding fuel to the fire. Someone call an air strike on SPEEDTV and start
over.
