Re: [ST] RE : Junk helmets



I mentioned off-list, I always thought it a helmet meets the appropriate standards it was good.  However, an even bigger question is: How is the industry policed?  It's one thing to cherry pick for approval testing and another to produce repeatable results.  How often are random samples taken and tested? and who does the testing, the regulatory board or the manufacturer?

I'm really interested in the data on all manufacturers to see where their random samples stack up.

Totally agree....but (as you point out) a more expensive helmet does NOT
make it safer only more comfortable/better after sales server/a better
fit/whatever.
