Apart from price (throttlemeister is much more
expensive), what would make one more desirable than
the other ?
I've just fitted a heavy throttle meister to my ST (Thanks Andy) and a Vista
Cruise to a friends bike.
The TM is beautifully made and goes completely unnoticed when installed.
Operation is silky smooth but it's somewhat awkward to get the nack of
rolling on the TM as you open the throttle.
As has already been stated, disengaging the TM is a cinch so there's no
safety worries.
The VistaCruise is a much simpler device and is much more convenient to
engage when on the roads.
Disengaging it is not as easy as the TM but it's very easy to close the
throttle against the resistance of the lock anyway so I don't think there's
a safety issue here either.
Cosmetically, the VistaCruise is no beauty but it's unobtrusive and would go
unnoticed unless you were looking for it.
I've also seen a few VistaCruise copies which were truely awful so steer
clear of them.
So, my impression of the TM?
Far too expensive for a pretty set of bar end weights.
The vista cruise is just as effective and much cheaper.
Doing it again, that's probably the route I'd take.
