Carb cleaner contains some lubricants, and leaves an oily residue. Never use this for any brake work, or anything that is important to keep free from oils. Brake clean is a non-residue leaving chemical for that task.

This is a bit random (but hey, it's non-riding season here in the Northeast...). Is there a difference between brake cleaner and carb cleaner? I've noticed on a lot of sites people mention to use "either brake or carb cleaner" for many tasks. Anyone have any real knowledge on this?
Thanks in advance,
Matt Heyer
