RE: [ST] Insurance Quotes (Sprint vs Daytona)



I was told by a local dealer that the US has a 150 bhp cap on the HP.  I
can't remember if that was at the crank or the rear wheel though.  So if
that's true, I doubt anyone can buy a m/c with more than that off the
showroom floor.

Now what you do after you own it is another story ;)

I'd like to resemble that remark (the Daytona owner part), but if it's that
much more to insure (justified or not), then I'll probably stick with my RS.

Just think what the rates are for something like the 04 liter bikes (R1,
ZR-10, GSXR, CBR) with close to 180 HP at the crank... Maybe I'll run a rate
request for one of those to see how it compares to a Daytona. One would hope
the Daytona is in a lower class than the Jap repli-racers.
