I would urge anyone short of leg ,who rides solo most of the time, to get
in the habit of using only one leg at stops.I stand a towering 5 foot 5
with a 29 "inseam(140lbs).I've used one leg for 20 odd years without
incident.I learned out of necessity from the world of off-road motorcycles and
36/37 inch seat heights.Paddling 2 feet , on a 500 + pound motorcycle,
looking for ground ,with the camber of some roads i ride/see regularly
would be a recipe for certain disaster.Plus i would never compromise the
suspension of any given bike just to get 2 flat feet on the ground at a
stop.Once in the habit of sliding a cheek off the side of the seat you will
confidently ride any motorcycle available, regardless of seat height.
Lastly you will appreciate the extra inch of leg room after a few hundred
miles on longer trips. garrett johns 00 st, 01 sv650
