If you mean a "closed loop system", yes BMW does use the same type of
system. BMW has had a problem with surging due to a little over engineering
of exhaust emissions. I have a 2003 BMW R1150RT and it surges badly. There
are several fixes on the market, including BMW's own twin spark adaptation.
