A slipper clutch is one that acts normally when accelerating, but which
will slip a little when you downshift and re-engage the clutch. It
reduces the chance that you'll slide the rear end of the bike if you
engage the clutch too quickly after a downshift. Really only useful on
high-compression race bikes, IMHO.
