Not to be a S**t, but ....
Actually, page 8.5 of the factory service manual says,"All Triumph
fuel-injucted engines must be filled with 10W-40 or 15W-40 semi or fully
synthetic motorcycle engine oil which meets API-SG or API-SH *AND* JASO
MA specifications." Than it says not to use 0W or 5W oils or 10W-50
oils. It also says racing 4T meets and exceeds these minimum specs.
Under these rules, MX4T, which is a 10W-40, is perfect. 15W-50 in not
mentioned in the service manual.
MX4T is $8/qt at AutoZone, so it's cheaper, but not dramatically so.
My first oil change cost me $120! I was stunned. I didn't complain,
because I bought the bike new for <$7k. I owe them some loyalty, but
when the warranty is up, .....
