Eh! Don't worry about going against the grain.  Being a former Goldwing
owner myself (1994 GL1500SE), I yern for another still.  If we didn't have a
kid so soon and I had a chance to pay it off, I'd still be riding it today.
LOVED IT, but keeping my kids out of daycare was more important than the
Goldwing.  Anyway, I don't want to change the subject, back to Goldwings.

I took the new one out for a demo ride at Bike Week 2002, and was very
tempted to just keep driving it home.  If I ever get a golden opportunity
(NPI), to get another I would in a heart beat.  Keep my RS too? Eh, maybe.
Depends on the circumstances.
