Rich,

I would expect the oil to grow gradually darker as the miles pile
up.  I just did my 6k service & the oil was very dark but I'm not
concerned.  Keep in mind that most in the industry don't consider
color to be a good indicator.  If you really want to know the
condition of your oil, have an oil analysis.
