No.
You don't have to use the "Triumph" chain breaker (never seen one). It's a
chain like any other - I use a MotionPro breaker I bought years ago (~$20 if
I remember correctly) and when time comes to replace the one on my ST, I'll
use it on it..
Perhaps the Triumph chain breaker also has a riveter (not familiar with it)
but ordinarily you have to use a separate chain riveting tool. Best chain
riveter I've found is an RK model.
Of course, you can use a chain with a master link/clip (at which point you
don't need a riveting tool). I 've used both types of chains without any
problems with either - some folks don't like the clip/master link type as
being less reliable but I've never had a problem with that type - they're
reliable provided you do it correctly. Nice thing about master link type is
that they're easier to take on/off for chain cleaning.
In any event, even using a breaker can be a pain. It goes a lot
quicker/easier to first take a dremel tool and grind down the rivet head -
makes it easier for the breaker to pop and push out the old rivet......
hope this helps......
