many of us vastly prefer the mailbox delivery method for reading
discussions. but i understand the point of view of those that don't.

"traditionally", this kind of dual interface to a discussion would
be handled by a news-to-email gateway. i.e., the list would be gatewayed
to a usenet newsgroup, and vice-versa. you can receive it as mail, or
read it as a newsgroup -- all messages appear in both places. i don't
know enough about web-based message boards to know if such a duality
is possible with them. but since newsreaders are easy to come by,
it's conceivable that such a "newsgroup" could be set up on a private
server somehow. it wouldn't even have to be run by lilley's or eric --
it could be run by almost anyone, providing they had the moderator's
blessing.

otoh, if this is to satisfy just one person, i'm with howard -- keep it
the way it is.
