I am around that point, and have defantly up'd the preload
front and rear. I am going to racetech my front end this winter.
Steve and I are going to do our bikes at the same time. I would
suspect that I will be getting the 1kg (IIRC) springs.

Of course I stand in at about 5'10", so I do not have one problem
you might with the ST, your knees might hit the rear of the
side fairings. Erik's advice is probably the best, make sure you
sit on each bike for about 5 or 10 minutes to try to get an idea
of which bikes you want to take for test rides next spring.

The ZZR1200 should be a sweet barge^Wbike. It will most likely out weight
the ST or the ST4 by 100 lbs.

As for comfort, I have logged over 14,000 miles in the last 7 or so months,
with a comute of about 7 miles each way, riding the bike to work does not
help much with the totals.

And of course, one of the bigger things to consider is maintance costs.
The desmo valve train needs attention ever 6000 miles (IIRC) while
the ST requires simular attention every 12,000 miles. As well it
would appear that the valves on the ST can be a DIY project, where
I believe it is a bit more difficult on the Duck. If maintance costs
and downtime are a large factor, then the ST will probably win.
At least it did in my case.

When it came right down to it, I prefered the feel of the tripple
to the twin, at least for sport touring purposes.

Anyway, welcome to the list.

Tom
