I didn't see the original message bringing up this comparison, but if the
original poster has some specific questions I'd be more than happy to answer
them.
My current ride is a '99 ST and before that it was a VFR 800. I know a
thing or two about them both ;-)

I agree 100 % . I have the 2000 RS and just love it. I have had a number
of bikes through the years and with out question this RS is by far the
best in build quality , finish , fit , performance and handling. I am
just now venturing out to the 300 plus miles per day ride as I am
getting back into biking after about a 15 year absence. I love it!
