Your not going to want to hear it, but I personally would recommend
getting a new helmet. Helmets do loose a bit of protection over
time, as well every little bump adds up. Motorcycle helmets absorb
energy by destruction, rather than cushioning, so every little bump
will reduce its effectiveness.
I ride enough, that between my sweat soaking into the padding,
and small bumps into walls and such, I am on my third Shoei in the
4 years of riding. Of course the first one ended its life a bit
early when a friend dropped it on the ground, um er doing about
20. That is also the last time I lent my primary helmet.
