Not yet, but once my warranty is up in September (next month, already!)
I'll consider it.
I just spent a few minutes doing a comparison of running costs between
my car and my bike. My bike is actually more expensive per mile than my
car -- $0.1229/mi. vs. $0.1138/mi. (respectively). Wheras gas is %72 of
the cost/mile for my car, it's only 35% for the ST. 50% of the cost of
the ST is in tires, and almost 30% of that cost is in the mounting and
balancing. (Seems like a strong argument for getting a tire changing
machine.)
If I can cut the labor costs associated with the ST maintenance it'll be
much more economical. Hence, I'm looking at doing my own valves at the
24K service interval.
(I can send the spreadsheet to anyone else who may want to do similar
calculations.)
