Re: Triumph screws up big time

This is a common thread among all the dealers I have used in
Florida...they are constantly harping about Triumph's lackadaisical
attitude when dealing with warranty issues and prompt shipping of
requested parts. Having owned Triumphs all my riding life I was just
ecstatic when John Bloor opted to bring this venerable old company back
from the dead...
I never thought I would be able to ride Triumphs again.
They have a wonderful product and enthusiastic owners, both old and new,
but this is not enough to sustain company growth and rider loyalty if
folks see Triumph as being unconcerned about customer complaints.
HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...What part of surviving competition with the big
four ( Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki & Suzuki ) not to mention Harley
Davidson, Ducati, BMW, and the upward streaking Aprilia, just to name a
few, don"t they understand!
You have to earn respect and confidence from your customers...REPEAT
BUSINESS and BRAND LOYALTY is what it will take to remain competitive.
Last year my college invited Richard Teerlink, former chairman of Harley
Davidson, to address our students in the business programs concerning
HD's rise from the ashes of mediocrity and the companies comeback from
financial disaster.Mr. Teerlink came aboard in 1981 when HD was at the
bottom in customer and product problems. He realized that HD's problems
were in management itself and that hope came from loyal employees and
riders. Well, he got that right ...just look at Harleys comeback! His
presentation was very interesting and informative and enjoyed by all the
faculty.
After Mr. Teerlinks presentation all the faculty and staff that are
riders, rode with him to lunch...the local HD dealer supplied him with
an appropriate steed.
Well, enough already...just want Triumph to be around for the duration
and not let greed and /or indifference ruin a remarkable comeback.
