Sorry for the late response, I've been trying to catch up with e-mail...

I was under the impression (in fact I think I heard it here) that the 4 l.
oil jug is a perfect fill IF the bike is "dry".  That means changing the
filter (which will hold a few oz of oil), and letting the (nice and
warm/hot) engine drain for several minutes to get all the viscous oil sludge
out.  This may have been rushed at the dealer (time = $).
