     I've seen plenty with visible canvas thread, does that count? :)
     
     There was a Suzuki Katana 'ped in the shop last week, rear rtyre down 
     to the canvas, rear pads worn down so that the metal backing plate was 
     worn through in spots, and the trendy young erstwhile was sporting a 
     new Arai with iridium visor. Gotta get your priorities straight.
