lessons relearned

Recently I posted a problem regarding my '99 ST failing to start. I
received a response from a fellow lister saying a similar problem was
the result of a bad/missing flapper operated by the stepper motor. My
reolution was much simpler but more humbling. Lessons relearned: check
battery connections, even if only slightly loose, voltage will drop and
even tho the motor turns over it's not cranking fast enough or have the
power reserves to fire the plugs. Solution: ride more often, if not
possible charge the battery if it sits idle more than a week.
