FWIW I believe that both your assumptions are correct, but I don't think it
will take long for the aftermarket to catch up.  There are also plenty of
other accessories to include in the negotiation of your RS purchase.  OTOH
from the picture of the RS hugger in the accessories catalogue, it appears
that it might give a bit better coverage.  I'm not sure if there have been
reports of it cracking like the one for the ST.  I've had the Triumph ST
hugger installed for about 6 months now and so far so good.
