Non functioning Speedometer

 Does anyone know if this would be covered by the warranty since it's just
10 months old?  Will there be written notification to each owner for fuel
sender replacement or can I just jump ahead of that?  If the speedometer is
not warrantied is it easy enough to do without any bike lift or hoist?

Lots of questions in one shot, but any input would be appreciated.
