Re: polished wheels



Try not to use steel wool to clean or polish aluminum parts.  It will clean them
up just fine but tiny pieces of the steel wool become imbedded in the aluminum and
will darken the aluminum over time as they corrode.  Use synthetic steel wool pads
as they are made of some kind of abrasive plastic that does not rust.  I learned
this the hard way after polishing some very expensive aircraft parts with steel
wool only to have them turn a dull gray and become unable to be polished properly
again after a while. Big time expensive mistake!
