RE: 500 mile Service

They have a front mud guard that they was supposed to be on the bike when I
bought it, but they didn't have time to install it. So that will need to be
installed (gee in all my ranting and raving I forgot to think about that,
but I am guessing they did too!!) What is worse about not being able to
ride is it is an hour to the shop. I was figuring a three hour tour, a
three hour tour, oopps, to much TV. A three hour job, and I can always sit
in the grass out front and watch the cars go by! I am back ordered on the
Rear Hugger, but I will put that on myself, and I ordered a CF tank pad, but
they can't order that until they reach the minimum order limit of $150. So
I will go one being angry tonight!!!! Or at least until I get on my bike
and go for a
ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 500 service on my RS took a total of six hours, and that
included not only the service, but installing the heated grips, rear
hugger and rear brake master cylinder cover. A whole day plus
overnight seems excessive for the amount of work to be done on
the 500 mile service.

And they don't want you to ride it in? WTF? Do they expect you
to truck it in? That really is ridiculous, especially considering that
they want you to leave it all day; that should allow enough time for
it to cool off for an oil change.

Do you have any other options to get the service performed? Is
another dealer even remotely local?
