500 mile Service

Hello All,
I am nearing my 500 mile service and I called my dealer to schedule my
appt. They would like the bike ATLEAST a full day, preferable overnight.
When I looked in my owners manual I saw nothing requiring such time. How
long have others left their bikes? And is there more to it than Oil, Check
the computer, and make sure nuts and bolts are with in specs ( I realize
there are allot of nuts and bolts, but not 4 or 5 hours worth of nuts and
bolts), adjust the clutch and brakes (their feel is not what I think it
should be, maybe I will just bleed them myself) and check the tires. This
seems more like 1 or 2 hours of work, not a day. They also do not want me
to ride it down, stating that changing the oil on a hot bike is difficult
because the plug and filter are "hard" to get to (this one I do not
understand, how much easier could it be). My final question, did anyone
else get their first check up done at a dealer other than the one that
bought it?

Sorry it was so long, but this has me wondering about my dealer!!!
