Re: Dead Batteries=Sleepy Head? & Stock Exhaust Query

Peter
sounds very much to me like the troubles I and several others had after
having the headlights doctored to provide dual-beamers.
Mine did this a total of three or four times, including one battery change
from new - conclusion? You can catch up on the thread, but the relay Triumph
mechanics were using caused a live connection to be left in the ignition
when the bike was all switched off, resulting in eventual and total drainage
of the battery - mine took between 1 and 3 days. I never left the parking
light on once - checked it each time. I have no alarm or other add-ons that
sap power - so there was no other explanation.
The cure is to get T. to provide you or your mechanic with a new-style
relay - which is effectively an old-style one, as they were originally used
on the early Daytonas, I believe. There's much more about this in a thread
of about 2-3 months ago.
